The nature of the game changed. There was racial integration, night baseball, franchise shifts, and expansion. It was an exciting time, especially for Baby Boomers whose childhoods were shaped by events of the day, including those events occurring on the diamond. MORE >

    Author Vince Jankoski, himself a Baby Boomer, is available to give a one hour, interactive talk about baseball in the post-World War II era. Vince is the author of Boomer Ball: A Baby Boomer’s Reflections on the Game He Loves, a collection of essays focusing on players, teams, and events in the time frame 1945-1970. He also is a regular contributor to the acclaimed website baseballhistorycomesalive.com.

    Vince’s writings dwell on some of the lesser known players of the Baby Boomer generation, who, while mostly ignored by baseball historians, are not forgotten by the fans who watched them play and whose contributions are woven into the fabric of the game even as it exists today. His essays contain events often given short shrift by other authors. His opinions are frequently contrary to the norm. Vince is available to talk about all things baseball. His talks will be of interest to Boomers as well as others with an interest in history in general and sports history in particular. Talks will be open to audience discussion and lively debate.
