Dr. Meinders brings to his speaking engagements over 45 years experience in a successful career. He spent 25 years active duty in the military, 10 years in the private sector and 9 years in the civil service area. His experiences include working at all levels from ground level, to Major Command, operational theater, HQ USAF, Joint Staff at Pentagon and HQ Department of Homeland Security.
Col Meinders held a series of positions during his military career working in the areas of veterinary medicine, environmental health, public health and medical readiness. He served as Chief of Combat Casualty Care Analysis and directed the Wartime Medical (WAR-MED) Program where he built the first AF Medical Service computer simulation model for the first and second echelons of care, He served as Chief, Medical Plans and Logistics for the USAF in Europe. During his years in Europe, he also served as the career advisor for all the AF Biomedical Science Corps Officer in Europe. He ended his military career as the first AF Medical Service Officer to serve as Chief of the Medical Readiness Division, Joint Chiefs of Staffs at the Pentagon.
Dr. Meinders has always helped and mentored the people that worked for him through out his career. But during his years at DHS, it became more formalized when he became a mentor within the DHS official mentoring program. He mentored several DHS employees and approximately 20 college students as well. . He ended his formal working career as the Executive Vice President of the National Association of Federal Veterinarians
